Kenya crushed to Namibia by an innings and one run in the fourth round of the ICC Intercontinental Cup match played at the United Cricket Club in Windhoek, Namibia.
Winning the toss and opting to bat on a wicket that became flatter as they days wore on, the East Africans managed 304 all out on the second morning adding a mere seven runs to their overnight total of 297/7 at stumps on the opening day.
However, the defeat was made to look worse through some poor shows in the field that saw the Kenyans drop a handful of catches and the dropped batsmen then went on to make big scores chief to these Gerrie Snyman with 201 not out and Craig Williams with 140 runs.
Mishra contributed a good 108 before losing his wicket in the last over of the first day but found little support from the rest of his team members other than skipper Collins Obuya’s half century.
Once Namibia had posted 630 in nearly two days with the bat, the Kenyans were always going to chase the game.
Irfan Karim 59 and Mishra 51 battled the Namibians with some help from Collins Obuya and Nehemiah Odhiambo but the task was already too much for the Kenyans who fell one run short of requiring Namibia to bat again.
The two teams meet again at the same venue on 4th and 6th October for the One Day World Cup Qualifying matches.
