Tigers and Warriors make it two wins all

Kanbis Tigers and Warriors claimed important victories over their rivals Knights and Rift Valley Rhinos in the ongoing East African Premier League encounters in Nairobi and Kampala respectively.

The win for Warriors over a lackluster Rift Valley Rhinos who opted to bat after claiming the toss in the Ugandan capital, failed to live up to the Warriors bowlers who restricted them for a low score of 107 from their allotted 20 overs. Karan Kaul, the only Rhinos batsman to show resistance with a well worked 45.

Warriors chased the total easily in a one-sided affair, taking the victory in 15.4 overs and the four points on offer to move to the top of the chart on net run-rate. Henry Senyondo was the pick of the bowlers with 3/14.

Tigers on the other hand continued with their good start to the event downing Knights by 14 runs in closely contested encounter at the Nairobi Gymkhana. Knights elected to bowl first and had seemed to restrict the Tigers to a gettable target of 144 but the chase was to be futile as Tigers tightened their bowling and fielding to leave the visitors 15 short of their target.  Harish Vekaria top scored with 44.

In Mombasa Kongonis registered their first win in the tournament with a 6-wicket win over Coast Pekee at Coast Gymkhana. Coast Pekee scored 114 for 8 before Kongonis saw off the total with 2 balls to spare.
