Head of Elite appointed

Cricket Kenya has appointed former Zimbabwe international Robin Brown as Head of Elite Development.

After an extensive recruitment process in consultation with the ICC High Performance Programme, Brown has been appointed to oversee CK’s talent development programmes from grass roots through to Elite level.

61-year-old Brown is a Level Three coach and has extensive experience in playing and coaching at international level having captained his country and appeared in two World Cups as a player and coached the Zimbabwe national side at the T20 World Cup. He has been heavily involved in development and high performance work in Zimbabwe for many years coaching National age group teams and one of the new franchise teams in domestic competition. He also has a very strong background in pitch preparation and facilities development.

Cricket Kenya Chief Executive Tom Sears said: ‘We are delighted Robin has joined Cricket Kenya in such a key position and have no doubt his knowledge and experience will be a huge benefit in many areas.

’Robin is a vastly experienced coach who has played and coached at the highest level and is highly respected in the game. His primary role will be to ensure we are identifying the best players in our system from junior level right through to our Emerging Players Squad and ensuring they receive all the coaching and support they need to fulfil their potential.’
