Honours even on the penultimate T20 encounters

There was mixed luck for the Kenyan side participating in a series of friendly matches against Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam city in India when they won and lost a match yesterday.

Andhra edged the morning match while the Kenyans bounced back to seal victory in the afternoon show piece.

The day had began badly for Kenya when they conceded a huge total of 182 runs from only 20 overs, but they seemed to have turned things around when chasing the mammoth total being 150 for 3 in 17 overs with both Tanmay Mishra who finished on 67 and Rakep Patel (16) looking settled at the crease only to be denied 8 runs short of Andhra’s score when both the batsmen fell to catches while attempting to get the job finished.

However, the afternoon belonged to the visitors who beat their opponents by 7 runs to draw level on the day’s work. Shem Ngoche’s 12-ball 26 which included 2 fours and 2 sixes helped Kenya to 137 all out missing out on four deliveries in their allotted 20 overs.

The win was achieved thanks to Collins Obuya’s 3 for 19 off 4 overs and Ngoche’s 2 for 20 from 3 overs. The teams meet again on the 19th of January which concludes the trip.
