Skipper Collins Obuya sparked a Kenyan XI double blow to Andhra Pradesh in the first schedule of back to back two twenty20 games during the ongoing Kenyan tour to Visakhapatnam.
The Kenyan captain took the run-scoring duties by notching 51 and 67 not out in the morning and afternoon games respectively, to steer his side to victory in the two shorter formats of the game encounters yesterday.
He scored his 51 off just 38 balls and then went better with a superb 67 from 45 deliveries to set up both wins for the visitors. They came when the East Africans were under pressure to seal a win after they let slip a good opportunity in their one-day encounter on the opening day.
He was assisted by Rakep Patel’s 43 from 35 balls during the morning game which Kenya XI won by 6 wickets and Duncan Allan’s 45 from 67 deliveries in the afternoon one that they edged their hosts by 55 runs.
The two teams take a rest today and then play their next match which is a one-day game on Thursday at the same venue.
