Cricket Kenya postpone elections

Cricket Kenya has postponed its elections in order to ensure all constitutional procedures at both provincial and national level are strictly observed.

At the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 7th January Chairman Samir Inamdar outlined some concerns and queries that had been raised during the nomination process and as a result the Governing Council unanimously agreed to adjourn the meeting until these issues could be addressed by all parties and give the provincial associations time to consult with their member clubs as necessary.

He said: ‘It is important that we strictly follow the constitutions of the National body and our member associations so we have postponed the elections. We have involved the Ministry of Sport and the meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Sport Mr Maina Kamau who has been extremely helpful and supportive.

‘We have given the provinces until the end of January to address any issues by which time we hope to be in a position to announce when the AGM can be reconvened and the elections held.’
