Nepal Under-19s achieved an easy win over Kenya Under-19s by six wickets, after restricting them to a low total of 107 all out in 48.3 overs at the Railway Union Cricket Club in Dublin, Ireland.
Nepal quickly chased down the total in quick-time although they had to contend with Kenya’s never say die all-rounder Duncan Allan who picked up four wickets in the match. Allan, Kenya’s only successive bowler on the day tried in vain to derail the Nepal innings but the runs being defended were too few. He ended up with im[ressive figures of 4 for 38.
The win was set up by Nepalese opening bowlers Avinash Karn and Krishna Karki who claimed 3 wickets apiece. Irfan Karim's 40 helped Kenya limp past 100, but Nepal had no problem overhauling the target in less than 20 overs.
The Kenyans play Ireland in their next match before moving to Derry for the second phase of the tournament.
